6 die in stampede at immigration employment test venues yesterday

A  total of 6 applicants have been reported dead from the different venues of the  Nigerian Immigration Service employment test held yesterday across the country. The Nigerian Immigration Service decided to conduct a test to fill 3,000 vacant positions in the country and the number of Nigerian Youths that went to the various test locations was overwhelming. Below is a collage of the crowd at the respective venues of the Immigration Service Test carried out in stadia across the country. The Abuja stadium which is to sit not more than 60,000 people had well over 80,000 youths and only one entrance to the stadium was opened for the applicants. It's being reported that at least six people died during a stampede at some of the venues of the poorly coordinated test. The dead are mostly from the Abuja venue, including a pregnant woman. The alarming part is that these applicants paid N1,000 registration fee and there were over 2 million applicants...by calculation, that's about N2bi

During the Consumer Protection Council (CPC) Bike Road show which was held today March 14th and led by Nigerian Consumer Ambassador, Charly Boy, a horrible bike accident occurred claiming the life of one person. The guy being carried in the pic above, Sani was later pronounced dead in the hospital, while the other guy being pictured has been hospitalized and responding to treatment at the Maitama General Hospital. A really sad Charly Boy sent out his heart felt condolence to the family of the deceased biker, the one currently hospitalized and to CPC. “I wish I could reverse the day” he said. Continue to see more photos from the accident. RIP to the man. Too sad! May the soul of the Late Sani rest in peace...Amen.
