Down time for Nigeria...Lend a helping hand, show some kindness

Nigeria is going through a recession now. This is the time to help someone out! Things are rough for a lot of people, even the ones one may think are rich or doing well. If you can help someone please do.

This is the time to help your gateman pay a child or all his childrens school fees. This is the time to give him some food items - rice, garri, yam, beans, plantain etc. This also goes for your maid, give her some transport money if she/ he isn't a live-in. Increase your domestic staff's salary.

If you have unlimited data, share your WiFi with your neighbours.

Buy that colleague lunch. He or she is probably not dieting, they just can't afford it. Give some colleagues a lift even if to a certain point.

Buy your friend petrol for his or her car and or generator. He's not walking because he wants to exercise.

Give that Uncle or Auntie N10k, they're probably in dire circumstances hence they're ringing off your phone.

Patronise farmers if you can. It's cheaper to get your goods from them. Eat more greens - they're cheaper. In fact become a vegan if you can.

Don't go to people's houses expecting to be fed. It's rude and times are hard. Be thankful if they feed you, it's not easy for anyone.

Give out you and your kids old clothes and shoes to people who truly needs them.

Pay an undergraduate's school fees. Recommend a good graduate if you know of a job opening. That may be the only way he or she can feed their parents and siblings.

Pay someone's NEPA bill. Let neighbours fetch water from you if you have a borehole.
Feed a homeless child or person. Offer them domestic work. You never know who you're helping. That might be the next Einstein. Pay someone's hospital bill, it could be life or death. You could literally be saving a life.

In June this year someone went to the market with N20, 000. 00 and returned home angry, confused and despondent. That one could barely afford a decent week's shopping...It's worse now!

We all know how prices double this season. Some families may not have food, FEED A FAMILY. Invite them over. People won't tell you what they're going through so be sensitive and see through the facade.

If you are in he diaspora and can spare some change for poorer family members please send it, it's no joke. Folks can barely feed daily.

There are so many little things that can be done, please search your heart and be creative to come up with other ways you can give. Families are hungry, angry and tired. Leave the government, we are the welfare system in Nigeria.

None of these are compulsory please. It's just a way to help each other out. Do what you can. If you're already doing any of these and can afford to then well done, if you can do more please do. Keep being kind. The law of giving never ever fails, believe it or not! Show love to someone today....MERRY XMAS

SEPTEMBER SPECIAL...

Its 3.39am and a very tired Funmi is woken by the thought of children crying repeatedly (seriously, continuous cry is killing) but am gonna help tell the story (my business you know). How does a well fed kid cry in the morning? takes a bath, haves a nap, wakes in tears, has another meal, plays a short while, resumes crying, sleeps again for a shorter while than done in the morning, wakes in tears again, refuses food and expects to be carried while standing all night... who does that??? My fascination? they never seem to have headaches as the routine for some of them is stable. For real, do they have to cry so hard to get anything? arrrrrrgh! (Images withheld cause you don't wanna see what I found on research) ...oops! Have I welcomed you to the month of September? Aii, Happy new month. Its gonna be a great month. Ciao...

RECOVERING FROM A COMMUNICATION BLUNDER

In the fast-paced world of corporate communication, mistakes can happen every  now and then.  Have you ever been in a situation  when a seemingly minor oversight quickly spirals into a full-blown crisis? For instance, during a major a event, a press release was sent out prematurely, containing incorrect information about a key speaker. The media caught on, and within hours, your establishment was facing a whirlwind of inquiries. The error wasn’t just embarrassing; it threatened the credibility you had painstakingly built. The first step is to acknowledge the mistake, both internally and publicly. Rather than making excuses, then issue a swift retraction, coupled with an apology to stakeholders and the media. Transparency should become your shield. Also follow up with a corrected release and contact key journalists to ensure the accurate information is disseminated. Behind the scene, analyze how the error occurred, and implement stronger checks to prevent futur...

Popular Singer Dies In Plane Crash

Mexican-American singer, Jenny Dolores Rivera Saavedra better known as Jenni Rivera, has died in a plane crash, Sunday, in Mexico. Minutes after taking off from the northern city of Monterrey on its way to Toluca, the plane disappeared. “My queen, we will see each other again soon,” the singer’s father Pedro Rivera told reporters in Los Angeles. “We thought it was a press speculation, we wanted to believe that. But it’s true, my daughter is dead.” Mexico’s Director of Civil Aviation Alejandro Argudín said the plane had crashed, killing everyone on board. “The aircraft was left completely destroyed,” Argudín said. “The information we have is that there wasn’t a single survivor.” At least five people were traveling in the plane: the pilots, Miguel Pérez and Alejandro Torres, and three more passengers: the singer, her publicist and her makeup artist. Rivera is renowned for her work within the banda and norteña music genres. Her tenth studio album, Jenni in 2008, b...
