The Best of the Lot : Joshua Oluwasegun Ajakaye, Best Graduating Student, 2023/2024 Academic Session, FUTA (4.95/5.0). ...A Journey of Faith, Focus, and Time Management

Balancing ambition with humility, Joshua Oluwasegun Ajakaye stands as an example of academic excellence and intentional living. By achieving an extraordinary CGPA of 4.95 from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and graduating as the best student for the 2023/2024 academic session at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Joshua  has etched his name among the University's top achievers.

His journey is a testament to consistent effort, faith, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
When asked about his secret to success, Joshua credits a structured approach to his studies. He began each semester with meticulous preparation—reviewing course outlines, gathering materials, and establishing a study schedule.

This proactive strategy allowed him to grasp foundational concepts early, easing his understanding of more complex topics. Teaching his peers became an integral part of his learning process, as it pushed him to master topics comprehensively.

However, his success wasn’t solely academic. Time management played a pivotal role in maintaining balance. Joshua made sacrifices, limiting social activities to focus on his academics and passions.

Despite a busy schedule, he nurtured a fulfilling life, serving as Head Usher in his church and participating in professional organizations such as the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Student Energy Club, where he held the presidency in his final year.

Joshua's academic journey wasn’t without challenges. A particularly difficult course, MEE 207 (Applied Mechanics), tested his resolve in his second year. But with the encouragement of a peer and consistent effort, he turned his struggle into a stepping stone.

Moments of self-doubt were countered by faith, resilience, and the support of friends and loved ones.
Joshua’s journey was shaped by the unwavering support of his family, the collaborative spirit of his peers, and the mentorship of dedicated lecturers.

Financial support through the PTDF In-Country undergraduate scholarship in 2023 was a turning point, allowing him to focus on his final-year project without financial stress.

Furthermore, his internship with Chevron Nigeria Limited further enriched his academic journey, providing him with practical insights into supply chain management and strengthening his professional skillset.
To aspiring students, his advice is simple yet profound: Start early, be consistent, and seek help when needed. Surround yourself with positive influences and trust in God’s guidance. His own journey is a living example of these principles.
Looking to the future, Joshua is poised to pursue postgraduate studies and build a career in the materials and energy industries. His aspirations extend beyond personal success—he is determined to contribute to advancements in materials science and engineering while mentoring the next generation of dreamers and achievers.

How does a well fed kid cry in the morning? takes a bath, haves a nap, wakes in tears, has another meal, plays a short while, resumes crying, sleeps again for a shorter while than done in the morning, wakes in tears again, refuses food and expects to be carried while standing all night... who does that??? My fascination? they never seem to have headaches as the routine for some of them is stable. For real, do they have to cry so hard to get anything? arrrrrrgh! (Images withheld cause you don't wanna see what I found on research) ...oops! Have I welcomed you to the month of September? Aii, Happy new month. Its gonna be a great month. Ciao...

Upon confrontation, the pastor finally conceded and confessed after he heard the evidences and testimonies of his bad deeds.
