Stephanie Okereke's ex-husband's father's corpse found in bush

According to a report i heard, this is not the best of time for Chikelue Iloenyosi, former husband of Nollywood actress, Stephanie Okereke-Linus, as the rotting corpse of Chikelue’s father was recently found in the bush by the police.

Police in Anambra State have discovered the decomposed body of one Pa James Iloenyosi in the bush. The man, aged 80, was kidnapped by some unknown gunmen in the state on November 25, 2013, three days before his birthday celebration.

It was gathered that his children were preparing a grand birthday party for the deceased before the kidnappers abducted him.

Pa Iloenyosi is the father of former Super Eagles fringe player, Chikelue, who was once married to Nollywood actress, Stephanie Okereke-Linus, before she married her present husband, Idahosa Linus, in 2012 in France.

Addressing journalists on Friday in Akwa, the Anambra State capital, the Commissioner of Police, Usman Gwary, disclosed that four suspects have been nabbed in connection with the act. He added that more would be arrested by the police.

We learnt that the rotting corpse of Pa Iloenyosi was found in a bush at Nneyi village in Umueri community of Anambra State. His body was identified by his children by the cloth and cap he was wearing before he was kidnapped last year.

We also gathered that the deceased’s children had already paid the sum of N1.5 million to the abductors, but the kidnappers claimed it was not enough. It was further learnt that the old man died in the kidnappers’ den and his body dumped in the bush afterwards.

Oga o! How callous can people be after collecting money from the family? I pray the Police does something about it ASAP.

JOURNAL OF A JOURNALIST NEXT DOOR ... September 27th, 2024... Calm before the Storm!

Friday was one of those rare, calm days in my world of Corporate Communications. It’s not often that I get a day with fewer meetings, but when it happens, I know it’s the perfect opportunity to catch up on all the news stories waiting to be polished and published. With the university’s biggest event just around the corner, this quiet felt like the calm before the storm. The first half of the day was spent at my desk, immersed in edits. It’s funny how even on a less busy day, the work piles up in different forms. A colleague sent over a draft press release that needed sharpening, while another forwarded an article that just didn’t have the right tone yet. The joy, though, is in refining those pieces—finding the right words that will capture the essence of the university's achievements. As the minutes rolled by, I ticked off one task after another, sipping soda and enjoying the steady hum of a day. In the back of my mind, I knew this won’t last long—the preparations for the upcomi...
