Married Senior Pastor sleeps with 13 Women and gets endorsement

The Brong Ahafo Regional Pastor of Calvary Charismatic Centre, Roger Ohene Frempong confessed to haven had sexual affairs and relations with four married women and nine young ladies of which seven are members of his congregation.

This happened after some members of the church heard some of the victims’ confessing to some friends of the actions of the pastor but what actually broke the camel's back was when the pastor was caught passing the night with a 20 year old lady who is a student of University of Ghana in a Hotel in Kumasi during the mother church’s annual Youth Camp which took place at Africa Hall, KNUST in August this year.

Upon confrontation, the pastor finally conceded and confessed after he heard the evidences and testimonies of his bad deeds. This article is not to defame him but to draw attention to the rising issues of men of God who take undue advantage of women because of their positions. The character of some of these weak men of God negatively affects the image and reputation of well meaning men of God in the country.

About three weeks ago, Reverend Samuel Tordzro of Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana cautioned that “Christians must be steadfast, truthful, and fearless to demonstrate positive moral grounds so to avoid being seen as false believers”. I believe that, this advice is really timely for all believers and good men of God like this reputable minister of Christ should be emulated in order for believers in the country to protect the integrity of Christ and His church.

What amazes most Christians in this matter is the attitude of the Church in handling this case as the Overseer of the church acknowledged the leadership of the church and the congregation for reporting the issue to him since he sent him purposely to preach and all other matters are secondary.

He rebuked those who see the pastor's deeds as immoral and solicited for the backing of the congregation for the pastor which many see as endorsing the sinful act of the pastor.

It is clear that the leadership of the church is not considerate of the plight of these innocent victims and the broken marriage vows, but is only interested in protecting the image of the pastor. The Holy Book even says that, “Because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son” (Hebrews 12:6 NIV) and also in Titus 1:13 NIV that “This testimony is true. Therefore, rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith.”

  1. God is so merciful o. Everybody now claims to be a man of God. He definitely lacks the spirit of God else he would have had self control. As for the G.O? God would need to purge his thoughts. hmmmn!

JOURNAL OF A JOURNALIST NEXT DOOR ... September 27th, 2024... Calm before the Storm!

Friday was one of those rare, calm days in my world of Corporate Communications. It’s not often that I get a day with fewer meetings, but when it happens, I know it’s the perfect opportunity to catch up on all the news stories waiting to be polished and published. With the university’s biggest event just around the corner, this quiet felt like the calm before the storm. The first half of the day was spent at my desk, immersed in edits. It’s funny how even on a less busy day, the work piles up in different forms. A colleague sent over a draft press release that needed sharpening, while another forwarded an article that just didn’t have the right tone yet. The joy, though, is in refining those pieces—finding the right words that will capture the essence of the university's achievements. As the minutes rolled by, I ticked off one task after another, sipping soda and enjoying the steady hum of a day. In the back of my mind, I knew this won’t last long—the preparations for the upcomi...
